200.000 users within 72 hours! That´s what Zach Sims and his co-founder got after making the codecademy website live from an apartment in Sunnyvale in Silicon Valley.

These days they are the 2.0 of online learning. Sims said that you learn more from your friends outside the classroom than you do inside the classroom and they want to provide that platform for learning. Codecademy is more than a platform – it´s a global community of people coming together to learn how to code. Sixty percent of their users are from outside the US.

Sims believes in learning by doing and wishes that schools had better programs for learning coding. "Computer science needs to go main stream and it needs to be more interactive than simply classroom learning".
