Shaukat is the Founder and CEO of de’zine, an online crowd-funding marketplace that connects undiscovered designs from vintage couture, to today’s trends, to eclectic home décor with consumers. Prior to de’zine, Shaukat was the Founder and CEO of Buysight, Inc. Buysight is an online advertising company that gathered real-time shopping transaction and activity data into a Buyer-Intent map to create an automated, self-serve marketplace to sell online display advertising the way search engine marketing is sold today, turning display advertising into Search. Buysight is funded by Rembrandt Venture Partners, Onset Ventures, SoftTech VC and Reid Hoffman. Prior to Buysight Shaukat founded Rhythm NewMedia, an industry leading startup that pioneered mobile video advertising in 2004. Shaukat played the role of Chief Technology Officer, Senior Vice President of Business Development and served as a member on the Board of Directors. Prior to Rhythm, Shaukat was a Venture Partner and CTO of NeoCarta Ventures, a $300m early stage venture firm focused on technology investments in consumer internet, media, and wireless. Shaukat came to NeoCarta in July 2002, having been at Yahoo! for 5 years. Joined as an early employee, Shaukat pioneered the development of the instant messaging platform - Yahoo Messenger - that ultimately became one of the world’s largest online communities.
