Anke Domscheit-Berg founded her companies fempower.me and opengov.me in March 2011. Fempower.me specialised in the business case for women in leadership positions and in training board room members and female managers on how to break glass ceilings. Opengov.me helps the leadership in public administrations and politics to understand, develop and implement open government strategies – to make governments more transparent and participative. Anke Domscheit-Berg serves at the board of the Government 2.0 Network Germany, she initiated the Government 2.0 Barcamps in Germany. As subject matter expert or Jury member she supported innovative Community Public Partnerships such as Apps4Berlin, Random Hacks of Kindness Hackathon, EU Open Data Challenge, as well as the Open Data initiatives of Berlin and Munich. Before becoming an entrepreneur herself, she was Director Government Relations with Microsoft Germany. She came there from McKinsey where she lead IT strategy projects in the Business Technology Office. At McKinsey, she also lead the study „A Wake Up Call for Female Leadership in Europe“ and co-authored the study „Women Matter“. Her career in IT started 15 years ago at Accenture, where she spent nearly a decade working in various positions at projects in the telecommunications industry and the public sector in Germany and European countries. Anke Domscheit-Berg is actively involved in several womens networks, e.g. the European Women’s Management Development Network. She serves at the supervisory board of Teachfirst Germany and is Ambassador for the Barefoot College in India, which trains illiterate, rural women to become solar engineers. She holds an MA in European Business Administration (England), a BA in International Business Administration and a degree in Textile Art. Anke Domscheit-Berg lives in Berlin with her husband and son.
