Catalina Escobar is a Colombian wife, mother of two children, a professional, and an entrepreneur, who made the decision to leave the private sector by the strong conviction to dedicate her life, talent, and experience to save and improve the lives of the poorest and most vulnerable people of Cartagena, Colombia. Catalina began in the banking and private fields, when in 2001 she created what would become her passion and greatest project of life: The Juan Felipe Gómez Escobar Foundation, after living through two tragic and painful experiences in the year 2000. Her leadership has led the Foundation to be recognized by different awards. In 2012 she was nominated by the U.S. State Department with other 25 women worldwide to be part of the Fortune/U.S. State Department Global Women´s Mentoring Partnership.
