Lisa Ma is a Speculative Designer. She specialises in combining the fringe, ethnographic research process and public perception to produce unusual platforms of engagement.

She founded "Fringe Benefits" projects to convert design methods into surprising services such as spas therapies at cat ladies’ homes, doorstep water filtration sessions by conspiracy theorists and historical village tours for stranded passengers by Heathrow activists. In her latest field-trips, Lisa made a project called "Farmification" about her stay at a joystick factory in China and experimentations in saving the worker community at the end of a innovation cycle with part time farming.

Lisa Ma holds a Master’s in Design Interactions at Royal College of Art, London. She has worked as a designer in London at Conran and Pentagram and Berlin at Deutsche Telekom’s CreationCentre, who she later re-joined to co-host workshops at TEDGlobal 2011. Most currently she will act as Producer & Presenter for TEDLive speaker/fellow conversations.

Lisa shares her adventures at fringejoyride.com, and is mostly based in London.
