Bas Verhart is a creative entrepreneur, and currently co-founder of THNK, The School of Creative Leadership, a global school and movement that offers a new type of executive education in Amsterdam, Vancouver, Lisbon, Shanghai and Silicon Valley.


During his career, Bas has initiated and led multiple award-winning organizations in the digital creative industries. After his studies at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Bas launched MVLG eBusiness Consulting in 1997. In 2000 he sold the business to LBI, a global marketing and technology agency, which later became part of Publicis Groupe.


In 2002 Bas and Michiel Mol founded Media Republic, an Amsterdam-based new media company. As part of Media Republic, Guerrilla Games was launched, one of Europe's leading game development studios and sold to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe in 2005.


Additionally, Bas has initiated multiple social enterprises. He was co-founder of the PICNIC Festival and the Green Challenge. Past board positions include Trendwatching.com, Amsterdam Economic Board and the Dutch Innovation Platform, chaired by former Prime Minister Balkenende.
