Frank Briegmann (*1967) is President & CEO UNIVERSAL MUSIC Central Europe & Deutsche Grammophon. He is responsible for the company’s operations in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux countries, Italy, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, as well as the classical label Deutsche Grammophon. In 2004, Frank Briegmann moved to Berlin where he became President & CEO of UNIVERSAL MUSIC Germany, making him the youngest ever CEO in the history of major labels in Germany. Since then, the company has increased its market share year upon year and continued to strengthen its position as the undisputed market leader. In 2013, Briegmann was appointed President & CEO Central Europe. In that capacity, he also directed the integration of EMI Music after the company’s acquisition by UNIVERSAL MUSIC for a sum of 1.4 billion Euros, in all territories under his responsibility. A member of UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP’s International Management Board, Frank Briegmann is part of the global management of the international market leader in the music industry. Frank Briegmann is a board member of the Federal Association of the Music Industry, of Deutsche Phono-Akademie and of media.net berlinbrandenburg. Additionally, he is a member of the advisory board East of Deutsche Bank and the board of trustees of the C/O Berlin Foundation. As one of the initiators of the charitable trust „Musik Bewegt“, he set up a funding platform through which artists and their fans can join forces to support social projects. He is also an advisor to Betterplace.org.
