Born in Kazakhstan, raised in Moscow, educated in the UK with a degree in Modern History and Economics from Oxford University. Began her career in the investment banking sector at Merrill Lynch (London), ABN AMRO (Hong Kong), Morgan Stanley (London). On the board of several multi-national companies. In 2003, she started an oil and gas engineering and construction company, MunaiGas, serving as Chairwoman and CEO. Her business experience varies from finance, oil and gas, to real estate, engineering and most recently high fashion, re-launching a label originally founded by revolutionary fashion designer Madeleine Vionnet in 1912. She is currently Chairwoman, majority stake holder and Creative Director of the 100 year old fashion label Vionnet.
A passionate supporter of charitable organizations including her own “Erkin” foundation, which helps handicapped children in Kazakhstan, on the board of Angel Foundation, which benefits leukemia patients and supports Portland hospital in London. Also Chairwoman of the London Hermitage Council and board member of the Serpentine Gallery Council in London.
Currently resides in Milan where Vionnet’s headquarters are based.
