Johannes is a curator for contemporary arts in interdisciplinary frameworks and a consultant for communications processes focussing on innovation, contemporary culture, and digital strategy. In 2012, Johannes joined Studio Eliasson to incurbate the digital strategy of Little Sun, a new project by Olafur Eliasson, addressing solar powered light and fostering energy access in development countries and “off-grid“ areas. Since 2007, Johannes has been Associate Curator for Arts, Design and Digital Culture at DLD (Digital-Life-Design). Within DLD Arts, he collaborated on public programs about innovation in arts, digital culture and urbanism, and co-curated projects with artists like Olafur Eliasson, Cerith Wyn Evans, Taryn Simon or Aaron Koblin. Johannes was Senior Curator for special programs at Sprueth Magers, where he scouted new talent and conceived exhibitions with artists including Kenneth Anger, John Baldessari, Ed Ruscha, Sterling Ruby, Cyprien Gaillard, or Robert Mapplethorpe. He also served as Associate Curator for the US-Embassy in Berlin and worked curatorially at 1st Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Arts (Berlin), Kunst Werke (KW) Center for Contemporary Arts (Berlin), P.S.1 Center for Contemporary Arts (New York) and Palais de Tokyo (Paris). Johannes holds an M.A. Marketing Communications from USC Annenberg, School for Communications, Los Angeles.
