New York based artist Lisa Oppenheim (*1975) studied at Brown University and Bard College and participated in the Whitney Museum's Independent Study Program in New York as well as the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten in Amsterdam. Her work often explores the ways in which film based media not only records images, but also how it produces ways of seeing and thinking about broad issues such as history and representation. She has recently exhibited her work at Zwirner and Wirth, Harris Lieberman and the Swiss Institute in New York and The Royal Academy, STORE and Stuart Shave/Modern Art in London. She is represented by Harris Lieberman in New York, Juliette Jongma in Amsterdam and STORE in London. DLD Arts Projects 09 contribution: Abstract Space (2009), a 3 channel slide installation, is based on NASA archive material from the Apollo 11 Lunar landing in 1969.
