Since July 2011, Maelle Gavet has been Chief Executive Officer of OZON Holdings, which is currently Russia’s leading e-commerce business.

The business has since grown exponentially with OZON Holdings reporting $750 million turnover in 2013. Gavet helped secure one of Russia’s largest infusions of VC funding, a $100 million round of funding in September 2011. This round was eclipsed by a $150 million fundraising closed in April 2014.

In May 2014, under Gavet’s leadership, OZON acquired a substantial stake in the leading Russian eBook distribution platform, LitRes.ru.

Prior to being named CEO, Gavet was Sales and Marketing director of OZON.ru. During this time she developed and implemented strategies to grow OZON’s brand and rapidly expand its customer base.

From 2003 to 2009, Gavet was a Principal at The Boston Consulting Group.

Gavet was also Founder and Managing Director at Predstavitelskij Dom from 2001-2003, and she also worked at the non-profit Preobrazhenie Foundation as Project Manager from 1999 to 2001.

Born in France, Gavet was educated at the Sorbonne, the Ecole Normale Supérieure, and the Institut D’Etudes Politiques.
