Maoiliosa has led business development activities for Nasdaq Private Market in Europe since January 2015. He focuses on the challenges private companies face in managing their equity, investors and liquidity needs. His role is to help fast-growing, tech-enabled, later-stage, founder-led, VC-backed start-up companies to stay private longer.


Prior to joining NPM, Maoiliosa worked with a number of European start-ups in senior business development roles, having previously led global business development activities at Global Shares plc, of which he was a co-founder in 2005.


Previous roles include ESOP Manager for eircom plc, where he managed the employee-owned stake of 14.9% (and later 29.9%) in the company through numerous corporate actions including two IPOs, an LBO, spin out and disposal of the mobile business, rights issues and corporate refinancing etc.


He was also a Tax and Human Resource consultant with PwC in London for 7 years, and an Army Officer in the Irish Defence Forces with 7 years’ service.


Maoiliosa attained a BA (Hons) and an LLB (Hons) from the National University of Ireland Galway, a Post-Graduate Diploma in International Selling from the Dublin Institute of Technology, is a Barrister-at-Law (non-practicing) in England and Wales, and is a member of Lincoln’s Inn London, the Institute of Directors Ireland and the Stephen’s Green Hibernian Club in Dublin.
