As a computer scientist, serial entrepreneur, and angel investor, Max Levchin has extensive experience building enduring Internet companies. Max's latest undertaking, HVF, searches relentlessly for opportunities that create value by leveraging data. HVF initiates seed and early stage investing, rapid prototyping of internally-generated ideas (some of which develop into companies funded by HVF), and getting together with the brightest minds across industries that will benefit from the data explosion.
Prior to creating HVF, Max was a co-founder and CTO of PayPal, served as Vice President of Engineering at Google after its acquisition of Slide, and also incubated and was the first investor in Yelp (NYSE:YELP).
A graduate of University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (CS'97), Max currently serves as CEO of HVF and Affirm, Chairman on the Boards of Directors of Yelp, Kaggle and Glow, and is a Director of Yahoo! and Evernote.
