Nancy Ellen Abrams is a philosopher of science, lawyer, and lecturer at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She is the author of A God That Could Be Real: Spirituality, Science, and the Future of Our Planet (Beacon Press, 2015, http://agodthatcouldbereal.com), which is a radical yet uplifting rethinking of God in light of modern science. She is also the co-author, with cosmologist Joel R. Primack, of The New Universe and the Human Future: How a Shared Cosmology Could Transform the World (Yale 2011, http://new-universe.org ) and The View from the Center of the Universe: Discovering Our Extraordinary Place in the Cosmos (Penguin/Riverhead 2006, http://viewfromthecenter.com ). These books argue that the new scientific cosmology is every human’s true origin story and provides the mythological foundation for a cooperative, sustainable world.
