Paola Antonelli’s work investigates design’s influence on the world, often including overlooked objects and practices, and combining design, architecture, art, science and technology.
An architect by training, she organizes exhibitions and writes books and essays on the intersection of design and architecture and other disciplines, and she lectures in setting ranging from academia to international conferences on technology and economy. Her goal is to insistently promote design’s understanding, until its positive influence on the world is fully acknowledged and exploited. Her recent online experiment, Design and Violence, launched for MoMA in collaboration with co-curator Jamer Hunt, has become a new paragon for curatorial practice and communication.
A true interdisciplinary, energetic, and generous cultural thinker, Paola was rated as one of the twenty-five top design visionaries by Time magazine.
