ShaoLan is an entrepreneur, geek, writer, traveler and dreamer. She is the Founder and Creator of Chineasy, a venture she started in 2013 on TED stage. Since then Chineasy has become one the most recognisable brands in the world in learning Chinese with vast number of followers. ShaoLan’s goal is to empower people to understand China, Chinese culture, its language & to bridge the gap between East and West though technology and design.

Chineasy has won several awards and has become a showcase by many on how to use design and technology to solve large-scale problems. ShaoLan is listed by The Sunday Times Magazine as one of the twenty-one ‘Leading Ladies in Tech in 2015'.

Her first book Chineasy -The New Way to Read Chinese was launched in March 2014 and is translated into 18 languages. Her next book Chineasy Everyday is launched in spring 2016.

ShaoLan is an entrepreneur with extensive experience in Asia and Europe. At the age of 22 whilst studying for MBA she wrote 4 best-selling books in Taiwan. She co-founded pAsia, one of the major players on Internet in Asia in 1990's, aged 24. After a second masters degree at Cambridge University she founded Caravel Capital in London.
