Susann Remke is Hubert Burda Media Inc's Vice President & New York Bureau Chief. Her role is to drive Burda's US-based partnerships on the one hand and to oversee daily operations in the New York office on the other.
Susann joined HBMI six days before September 11th, 2001 as a US correspondent for Burda's newsmagazine FOCUS. In 2010, she was promoted to New York Bureau Chief, in 2015 to Vice President. She has profiled numerous celebrities, CEOs and artists from Bill Gates to The Rolling Stones in her career. Susann is also a frequent speaker/moderator at DLD, DLDwomen and other conferences. Her first novel "New York für Anfängerinnen" (2013) was an Amazon bestseller and is currently being translated into several other languages.
Susann has a Master's Degree in British and American Literature and previously worked for DIE WELT, Welt am Sonntag, dpa and The Miami Herald. As an early adopter, she moved to what is now hipster Brooklyn in 2001 and is happily living a bridge-and-tunnel life with her husband, son and two cats ever since.
