As first airline, Lufthansa presented an interactively enhanced 360 degree experience with Oculus Rift at ITB 2015, the world’s largest travel fair where it was awarded as best booth. Lufthansa was also the first airline releasing a 360 degree video on Facebook where one of its latest 360 videos generated more than 5m views on Facebook. Today Lufthansa uses about 100 Samsung Gear VR worldwide in its markets for sales and is already using the technology at the point of sale: For example at JFK Premium Economy upgrades are sold via VR in a pilot.
