Yonatan Wexler is an experienced Computer Vision scientist who has worked at Oxford University, The Weizmann Institute of Science and at Microsoft. He has spent the last three years with OrCam Technologies developing a unique device for blind and visually impaired people using sophisticated image and text recognition technology. One of the novelties of the device is a unique user interface which interprets the user’s gestures. By simply pointing at what he or she wishes to know more about, the user engages the device, called OrCam, which can read books and newspapers, recognize thousands of products, whether a bus is approaching (and what number it is), and tell whether a traffic light is red or green.
