Only three sessions to go at DLD15 and Sina Afra brings the high-flying e-commerce panel on stage. The participants Aslaug Magnusdottir (Tinker Taler), Jason Godlberg (HEM) and Hakan Bas (Lidyana) are in the businesses of garments, furniture and lifestyle goods. The thing that makes them part of the same branch is that they sell their products almost exclusively online.
The next big thing in the e-commerce markets is customization. It increasingly is less about speedy delivery of goods, but about being able to provide goods that are uniqe and customized to the individual demands, needs and desires.
“Price and quality have to be right”, says Jason Goldberg, who has moved his business HEM from New York to Berlin because, according to him, it’s important to be close to the supply chain and Berlin’s digital scene is still running at lower costs than NYC.
The location of a business is important also for e-commerce, which is why Aslaug Magnusdottir shares that she has set up several pop-up stores for Tinker Taler. The rest of the panel agrees that the trend of physical shops is growing in the e-commerce sector.
Sina Afra from Gloabl 3 wraps up the session with a humoruos inquiry what the panelists think of Ali Baba.
