On Creating Tech

Creativity. That's what is all about. David Karp (Tumblr) and Georg Petschnigg (FiftyThree) talked about it together with moderator Felix Salmon (Reuters).

Creativity can be a challenge and has to be a challenge every day. For creativity you'll have to find motivation. Maybe on Tumblr. Georg named it the internet's canvas.

David Karp, founder of Tumblr: "Thanks to technology, you can get creative stuff out from everywhere outside if existing systems."

Machines pushes us forward, they help us, and with the upcoming epoch of machines everyone should have access to it.

And David's vision about creativity shows its current limitation and possibilities: "Our job is to help creators make their best work and bring it in front of an audience. And we have a lot of work to do. We have no clue what people will do with our apps. That’s an incredible feeling, waking up, not knowing what they are coming up with."

"What is really amazing at the moment is that you can build an audience from anywhere."

Georg put it in other words: "Technology is here to serve the human need to create ... you only have one life. What you're gonna do with that? I hope you're going to create!"

Get your life a meaning!
