What will matter for MediaTech in 2014

Content and technology companies are merging to produce films and new forms of media. Examples are the first Oscar nominated Netflix movie and Jay Z's album he launched with Samsung. The beginning of this movement can be found in 2007 with a reading app, says Michael Wolf from Activate. It's all about producing high definition content purely online and increasingly content that caters exactly to what the user is interested in. Wolf further prophecies the emergence of little data. It is data that users want to share rather than data that is collected on the user. This form of data will create the environment for media tech to thrive with new content that is much more customised to individual users. And what will really matter this year will come down to what the user wants.
