In 2014, FOCUS awards the innovation price “FOCUS Digital Star” on January 20th at Hubert Burda Media´s DLD Conference. Digital innovations – made in Germany – that include promising business ideas as well as scientific innovations are presented to the international digital scene. The media partner of “FOCUS Digital Star” is the news portal FOCUS Online. In 2014, “FOCUS Digital Star” honors business models or new technologies in two categories.

In 2013, the “FOCUS Digital Star“ was granted to the app-provider „myTaxi“ from Hamburg, to the auction platform „Auctionata“ from Berlin and to the provider of big data analysis software “Blue Yonder“ from Karlsruhe.

The winners of the “FOCUS Digital Star” receive a media volume of 50.000 Euro gross from FOCUS as well as a seal for the purpose of self-marketing and the participation in the exclusive DLD Conference.

A jury of renowned experts from economy, research and media evaluates the nominees and chooses the winner: Among them Prof. Dr. Gesche Joost, Head of Design Research Lab, University of the Arts Berlin, Prof. Dieter Kempf, President of BITKOM/ Chairman of the Executive Board, DATEV eG, Markan Karajica, Chairman of the Board, ProSiebenSat1 Digital, Lars Hinrichs, XING Founder, Claudia Nemat, Member of the Board of Management, Deutsche Telekom AG and jury chairman Burkhard Graßmann, Chairman of the Management Board, BurdaNews.
