Dirk Ahlborn has a vision of what tomorrow’s modes of public transportation can be. As CEO of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, Inc. Founded in 2013, HTT designs and builds the most highly profitable, fastest, safest, and environmentally friendly transportation system for passengers and goods. HTT began on JumpStarter’s online crowdfunding and crowd collaboration platform JumpStartFund, leveraging technology and a 480+ team of global experts to bring disruptive innovation to the transportation industry.
The Hyperloop first gained public interest when entrepreneur Elon Musk published a white paper describing a futuristic mode of transportation, cutting the travel time between Los Angeles and San Francisco from a six-hour drive, to about thirty minutes. Musk handed the concept to the public and HTT rose to the challenge, inspiring people with this vision across the world.
Ahlborn is a serial entrepreneur with 15 years’ CEO experience in Europe and North America. In 2009, Dirk joined the Girvan Institute of Technology where he worked with a number of high-tech startups on tasks ranging from alternative energy to online marketing. Prior to moving to San Francisco, Dirk had an early career as a broker and Investment specialist at one of Germany’s largest banks Bankgesellshaft Berlin, AG, and founded multiple startups in Italy focused on alternative energy.
