Erin McPherson has a diverse background in both digital and traditional media, with a focus for the last decade on the creation, distribution and monetization of online video.
From 2013-2015, Erin served as Chief Content Officer at Maker Studios, the world’s largest network of short-form video, which was acquired by The Walt Disney Company in 2014. At Maker, Erin oversaw the studios, programming, original content, strategic partnerships and marketing.
Prior to Maker, Erin served as Vice President & Head of Video Programming and Originals at Yahoo, where she led the company’s foray into original video, growing the original programming roster to more than 80 ongoing daily or weekly series, award-winning branded entertainment programming, and groundbreaking specials.
Erin has also practiced entertainment and media law in a variety of contexts, representing a wide number of individuals and companies, including Halle Berry, Kevin Spacey, Zachary Quinto and others. She served as in-house counsel for LivePlanet, the transmedia company founded by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, and at z.com, an early online video start-up funded by Bill Gross’ Idealab.
Erin graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College with a B.A. in English Literature, and she received her J.D. with honors from Harvard Law School. She lives in Los Angeles.
