Jill Van den Brule is a social entrepreneur and humanitarian. A member of UNICEF’s management team post-earthquake Haiti, Jill also represented UNESCO in the groundbreaking UN Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and co-wrote a documentary film featuring Philip Seymour Hoffman on the subject. She spoke at the Rio+20 Summit with UN Secretary General and Prof. Yunus. At DLD 2012, she presented a micro solar powered lantern called “Luci” that she co-developed aimed at eliminating energy poverty. She’s passionate about neuroscience and consciousness and is working to bring meditation to post-conflict settings. She taught a Masters seminar at Sciences Po, Paris. She ‘s currently co-creating several works with mixed media artist Kito Mbiango. Jill has produced several documentary films for the UN and her written and photographic work has been featured in numerous outlets. She is likewise working on a new children’s book. She holds a Masters degree from the Fletcher School and one from L’Institut d’Etudes Politques de Paris and an Honours Degree in from Barnard College, Columbia University. A dual citizen of the US and France, she speaks 5 languages.
