Born in 1971, Dr. Katrin Suder is co-CEO and -Founder of TAE Advisory & Sparring, a company founded beginning of 2019. She is chairing the digital advisory council of the German Government and a senior fellow at the Hertie School of Governance. Before, from August 2014 – April 2018, she has served as State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Defence, where she was responsible for Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support as well as matters of the Planning Directorate. Before her appointment as State Secretary Katrin Suder worked for the consulting firm McKinsey & Company from 2000 to 2014. She headed various projects in Germany and abroad, notably in information and communications technology and the public sector and in the areas of strategy, IT/technology and transformation.

Katrin Suder studied physics at RTHW Aachen University and at Forschungszentrum Jülich (Jülich Research Centre) from 1990 to 1996, earning the degree Diplom-Physikerin. She then went on to receive her doctoral degree in computational neuroscience (Dr. rer. nat.) at the Institute for Neural Computation of the Ruhr University Bochum, for her thesis on neuronal information processing in the primary visual pathway in 2000 (probably something called AI today). During that period, Katrin Suder also earned a bachelor's degree in German literature and theatre studies.
Katrin Suder is married, has three daughters and lives in Hamburg.
