Maja Ćirić is an independent curator. Her logic and practice are based on terms of criticality and post-globalism. Her areas of concern span from curating as institutional critique through to the research of methodology and epistemology of curating, and to the international and transnational circulation of ideas and curating.

She was the curator of the Serbian Pavilion at 52nd International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia and the Commissioner of the Serbian Pavilion at the 55th International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia. She worked as a cultural developer in Dubai, UAE.
She gave lectures about curating and the curatorial at the China Academy of Art, Hangzhou, China; Academy of Visual Arts, Leipzig, Germany; Kibbutzim College, Tel Aviv, Israel, NABA, Milano, Italy, LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, New Academy of Arts and in self-organised school New Collection, Belgrade, Serbia.
She is a recipient of Lazar Trifunović Award for Art Criticism (Belgrade), CEC ArtsLink Independent Projects Award (New York), ISCP Curator Award (New York), Dedalus Foundation and Independent Curators International Curatorial Research Award. Her speaking and writing engagements in 2018 were for Centre Pompidou (Paris), MNAC (Bucharest), MOCA (Skopje).
