Since 2003 Martin Halle is Professor of Internal Medicine and chair of the Department of Prevention and Sports Medicine at the Medical Faculty of TUM (Technische Universität München). Furthermore, he is vice dean of the sports and health faculty. His team leads one of the largest preventative outpatient clinics in Germany reaching from elite Olympic athletes to elderly cardiac or oncology patients seeking advice for life-style intervention. In addition his area of responsibility includes teaching of medical students and sport students at TUM. Martin Halle’s scientific research focuses on the fields of cardiology, metabolism and exercise physiology with a special focus on exercise in heart failure and oncological patients, leading several national and international multi-center intervention trials. Martin Halle was honored with several scientific national and international awards, is deputy editor of the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, and has published over 100 articles in international scientific journals. Currently he leads and develops the scientific prevention initiative at TUM.
