Nicolas Ruhland is a graduate student at the University of Bayreuth and student research assistant at the Project Group Business and Information Systems Engineering of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (FIT). There, he works in the Fraunhofer Blockchain Lab.

Very early he developed a passion for building prototypes in various projects. There his main focus lies on making Blockchain technology tangible through comprehensive prototypes. He pursues his goal not only in the course of his work at the Fraunhofer Blockchain Lab but also with his two partners at vecon. Together they have built a multitude of prototypes applying blockchain across various industries. One of his most successful projects was DLT x Platooning, which illustrates an initial step towards autonomously driving cars and especially the communication between vehicles. With this project he won third place at the international MOBI Grand Challenge and presented it in front of Federal Minister Andreas Scheuer. At the moment he and his team are working together with partners on bring the concept to the streets as well as expanding the vehicle to X ecosystem.
