Ross Martin is an Executive Vice President at Viacom and runs Scratch, a creative team that channels the power of Viacom's portfolio -- including MTV, Comedy Central & Nickelodeon -- in new ways, including consumer insights, product development, design and original content in all media. Previously, Ross served as Head of Programming for MTV's Emmy and Peabody Award winning college network, mtvU. He later served as SVP of MTV360 Production and Development, working across MTV, MTV2 and mtvU. Prior to MTV, Ross ran Plant Film, a production company partnered with Fox, VH1 and Dimension Films; was a development executive for Spike Lee; and taught poetry at Washington University, RISD and The New School. His writing appears in The Kenyon Review, Harvard Review, McSweeney's and multiple anthologies. His book, "The Cop Who Rides Alone," was published in 2002. He’s a member of the Academy of TV Arts & Sciences, Viacom Marketing Council, and advisory board of St. Jude Children’s Hospital. In 2012, he was named one of Fast Company's 100 Most Creative People In Business and a "Media Maven" by Ad Age. In 2013, he was named to Fortune Magazine's "40 Under 40" list of business leaders.
