Sacha Nauta is the Finance correspondent for The Economist. She writes about non-bank finance, including what institutional investors do with their money, interesting real assets and other alternative ways of investing (incl private equity and VC) and the insurance sector. Recently she wrote about the future of the City of London, how big data and the internet of things are changing insurance and why infrastructure investing is a good call. This summer she covered the Greek referendum, unfolding crisis and introduction of capital controls from Athens. Currently she is based in Amsterdam to take a closer look at cross-European trends in finance, business and economics.
Previously she wrote for the International and Europe sections. Before joining The Economist, she worked at the United Nations in New York and at Her Majesty’s Treasury in London, where she focused on public spending and European budget negotiations. Ms Nauta holds an MA/MSc in history of international relations from the LSE.
