Stefan Leible is President of the University of Bayreuth, a Bavarian institution of higher education ranked as one of the top 30 young universities worldwide (THE).

Having studied law, he started his academic career as a research associate at the University of Bayreuth. Later on, he became a full professor at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena. In 2006, Stefan Leible returned as a professor to the University of Bayreuth, chairing Civil Law, Private International Law and Comparative Law.

Before becoming President of the University of Bayreuth, Stefan Leible was Director of the Institute for Business and Media Law, Director of the Institute for German and European Food Law and Vice President of International Affairs and External Relations at the University of Bayreuth. Beside his work as President, he is also guest professor at the School of Law at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan (China).

Stefan Leible has published more than 300 articles and has written and edited more than 50 books on German and International Business Law, European Private Law, Private International Law, International Civil Procedure, E-Commerce Law and German and European Food Law.
