Hu Weiwei is the founder of Mobike, the world’s first and largest smart bike-sharing company. She established Mobike in 2015, driven by a desire to transform cities by making bikes available to everyone. She was inspired to pursue her vision for the future of bike-sharing after seeing first-hand how technology could change people’s life for the better, during a decade-long career as a journalist covering the technology and transport sectors.

Under Weiwei’s guidance, Mobike has adopted a mission to bring more bikes to more cities, using technology to make cycling the most convenient and environmentally-friendly transport choice for urban residents, and to change the way of city life beyond transportation.

Weiwei has been named one of Fortune Magazine’s “Forty Under Forty”, and received the 2017 Annual Founder Award from renowned Chinese publication, ChinaBang.

A native of Dongyang, in China’s Zhejiang Province, she received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Zhejiang University City College.
